Packaging FAQ
This packaging FAQ answers the 32 questions buyers ask us most — about materials, ordering, printing, shipping and quality — grouped by subject. If yours is not here, our team will answer it directly.
About ALLWINS Group
Who we are, what the three divisions do, and who we supply.
What does ALLWINS Group provide?
Packaging machinery, flexible packaging materials and global sourcing support — the three together, which is what lets one supplier answer for how they work as a system.
Which industries does ALLWINS serve?
Food and beverage, coffee and tea, supplements, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, pet food, consumer goods and household products, among others.
Where does ALLWINS supply to?
Customers in 28+ countries, concentrated in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Latin America, with buyers in Europe, North America and Australia as well.
What languages does your team work in?
English, Chinese, Arabic, Urdu, French, Japanese, Korean and Hindi. You will be answered in the language you write in.
Do you supply machinery as well as materials?
Yes. The machinery division builds and exports automatic packaging equipment, and specifying the machine and the material together is what keeps a line running without waste.
Can you source products other than packaging?
Yes. The sourcing division handles packaging and related industrial products from China — supplier selection, sample coordination, inspection and export logistics.
Materials and structures
What the films do, what they are made of, and how to choose between them.
How do I choose the right packaging material?
Start from the product, the shelf life and the filling line. Those three decide the barrier, the seal and the structure — every product page states the barrier, temperature range and process it suits so the choice can be made on evidence.
Are the materials food grade?
The structures are available in FDA and GB food-grade specifications. Each product page states what its structures comply with.
Can you supply recyclable or biodegradable packaging?
Kraft paper structures are recyclable and PLA/PBAT structures are biodegradable. Both trade some barrier performance for it, which the product pages set out.
What is the difference between a laminate and a mono-material?
A laminate stacks different films so each layer does one job — print, barrier, seal. A mono-material uses one polymer family throughout so it can be recycled, which costs some barrier. Materials & Structures compares the two.
What barrier levels can you supply?
From general-purpose PET/PE up to PET/AL/PE, which blocks light, oxygen and moisture. Filter the catalogue by barrier to see what reaches which level.
Will the material run on my existing machine?
Tell us the machine and we will specify the film for it — form-fill-seal compatibility and seal performance are what the machinery side of the group exists to get right.
Printing and finishing
What can be printed on a pack and what can be built into it.
Do you provide customised packaging?
Pouch shape, size, thickness, structure and printing are all made to order, and the catalogue lists which structures each format is available in.
Which printing method will my job use?
Gravure for high volumes, established artwork and complex designs; digital for short runs, multiple variants and seasonal packaging. Digital carries no plate fee, so the minimum order is lower.
How many colours can you print?
Up to ten with gravure. Digital prints full colour with variable data.
What finishes are available?
Matte, gloss, soft touch, kraft look, spot UV, hot stamping and clear windows.
What functional features can be added?
Zippers, tear notches, degassing valves, hang holes, euro slots, spouts and retort-compatible construction.
Can ALLWINS help with the artwork?
We work from your artwork or brief, advise on the structure that will carry it, and supply a dieline and a proof before anything is printed.
Ordering and quotations
What a quote needs, what it costs and how long it takes.
How do I get a quotation?
Send the product, the format, the quantity and the shelf life you need through the quote form. Anything not listed can still be specified.
What information do you need for a quote?
The product, the format, the quantity and the shelf life get you a real number. Artwork, finish and any certification you need refine it.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
It depends on the structure and the print method. Digital and plain stock start low; a custom gravure-printed laminate carries a cylinder cost, so the sensible minimum is higher. Tell us the format and the volume and we will give you the real number for your job.
How soon will I get a response?
Within one business day. A request that needs a factory quotation — a non-standard structure or an unusual barrier — takes longer to price, and we will tell you how long rather than leave you waiting.
Can I get samples before placing a large order?
Yes. Plain stock samples go out on request; printed samples follow artwork approval, so what you hold is what you will receive.
What are the lead times for production and delivery?
Production depends on structure, print method and quantity, and shipping depends on the route. We give both separately in the quotation so you can plan against each.
Shipping and export
Getting the order out of China and to your door.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to 28+ countries. Booking, documentation, customs clearance and delivery are handled by our sourcing division.
Do you support export documentation?
Yes. Booking, documentation, customs clearance and delivery are part of what the sourcing division does — the Global Sourcing page sets out the full process.
Which shipping methods do you use?
Sea freight for volume, air freight where the timeline needs it. The quotation states both so you can weigh cost against speed.
Who handles customs at my end?
We prepare the export documentation and can work with your customs broker. Import duties and clearance in the destination country remain yours.
Quality and compliance
How an order is checked before it leaves, and what you get in writing.
How is quality controlled?
Incoming material verification, print and lamination checks, in-line and final inspection, and a documentation review before shipment. The Quality & Compliance page sets out all six steps.
Which standards do you work to?
ISO 9001, BRCGS Packaging, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, REACH and RoHS. Certificates are available on request, and the scope varies by manufacturing site — we will tell you which site your order is made at.
What documents can you provide?
Product specifications, a quality assurance plan, a certificate of analysis for your batch, and food-contact and material safety documentation. Ask for the ones your approval process needs.
What testing is carried out?
Barrier performance (OTR, WVTR, aroma and moisture), seal strength and leak testing, print and surface inspection, and thickness, weight and dimensional consistency.

What this packaging FAQ does not answer
Two kinds of question need your drawing rather than a general answer. The first is compliance for a named market: food-contact plastics are governed by the FDA’s food-contact substance rules in the United States and by different instruments elsewhere, so the honest answer depends on where the pack is sold and what is inside it. The second is price. A quotation follows from the structure, the size, the print and the run, which is why the quotation form asks for those and not for a budget.
If you are choosing between formats rather than asking about one, the product catalogue lists all 54 with their barrier, temperature and process marks side by side.

What does the ALLWINS FAQ cover?
Thirty-two questions in six groups: the company itself, materials and structures, printing and finishing, ordering and quotations, shipping and export, and quality and compliance.
Why does the FAQ not answer pricing questions?
Because a packaging price follows from the structure, the size, the print and the run quantity. Any number given without those is wrong for almost every enquiry.
What if my question is not in the FAQ?
The team answers directly, typically within one business day.
